Our future Little People Big World Appearance

So, the latest is that I have Toxemia. Seven out of one hundred women get it, so why not me right? I now have to go in every other day for fetal testing and an ultrasound to make sure the baby isn't under any stress. My first was today and so we will see how it all turns out. I met with my doctor and he said that the baby is about 5 lbs. which is really small still but that she is developed like she should be for 38 1/2 weeks, just tiny. He is going to monitor her closely, but will quite possibly want to induce me before my due date which is less than two weeks away now. That means I really could have a baby any day now. Since we are not even close to having the baby's room together, things are starting to get stressful over here. I just barely stopped working and have been getting things ready but it seems to be taking forever. The doctor says that there is no risk to the baby at this point, so we will just be patiently waiting for him to say it is time. She is going to be a very small little thing...could be about 6 lbs. or so, should make for an easier delivery he says. Brady is hoping we can make an appearance on Little People Big World maybe. =)

Man, you have had the Murphy's Law pregnancy of all time! Yikes. Hopefully my theory about the pregnancy gods being fair in the end will hold true. You know...people with easy pregnancys have hard deliveries, people with hard pregnancys have easy deliverys, people who have both easy get ugly kids....you know. It's all fair in the end. That's my theory anyway.
Also, don't stress too much over bringing the baby home to a perfect room. She won't care one bit. I know you care (I did!) but they really need next to nothing in the beginning. Good luck hanging in there these last few weeks. We can't wait to meet our new neice/cousin. Patrick's been practicing her name...much like Emily is Memily to him, Ella is coming out Mella! Oh, well.

Jessica that's rough! I had toxemia with Hallie (pregnancy induced high blood pressure) and was on bed rest the last month and was induced two weeks early. Thank good they induced two weeks early though because she was still 8 lbs. And the fetal monitoring I thought was kind of fun. YOu get to sit and watch your baby's heart beat and hear when she gets hiccups and what not. And all the testing gives you something to do the last few weeks. :) Makes time go by faster! Let us know if everything is ok.
