The hills of Los Angeles are burning.

We got to take a trip to Jessica's parents house last night at 4 am. A forest/brush fire started yesterday about 2 miles from our house and is threatening to burn everything in it's path. There was no concern about the fire reaching us since it would have to burn through 2 miles of city before hand. However, Ella seemed to be very irritable and as the smoke got worse she started wheezing. Since our eyes and lungs started burning, we could only imagine how she felt. So I called a nurse for Blue Sheild who had me call poison control. They told me that we were too close to the fire to have a 3 week old baby and to get out of there. So we packed up and left for Upland. We are breathing better now, and Ella is much happier. We are afraid that little Ella may have inherited asthma . I guess we will see.

3 weeks old

Ella is now a little over three weeks old. I can't believe how much bigger she has gotten. Here are some photos from the weekend. This is how I catch her sleeping at night, all stretched out. Just looks funny for a newborn... Ella took her first trip to church. She really seemed to like the experience, and she looked so cute in her dress. And finally...this is for Grandma Karen and Grandpa Eddie mostly. Who says you can't play with a newborn? My sister Cassidy and I had a blast on Saturday. =)

Our Little Thumb Sucker

For a week or so I have been noticing Ella doing things that looked like my sister when she was little (she was a thumb sucker). I kept saying she would be one and nobody believed me. Sure enough on the way out of the doctors office yesterday we caught her sucking her thumb. Here are some photos for proof. I know how hard it is to get kids to stop...speaking from experience, but isn't it cute?

2 weeks, 2 days old!

Brady's Snow Valley outfit she had to have. Ella has learned that she enjoys bath time. Only she is unsure if it is truly bath time or bed time. She has taken up sleeping in the tub at an early age. =) Auntie Rae and Ella... Nana came to visit for a week. Ella sure seemed to have fun visiting with her. Aren't these two cute in their camouflage. =) This was the lady that did Ella's portrait at Disneyland! And the portrait... This picture is from today. She slept the entire day...must be growing.

I am sorry to those of you who read my mothers blog, but I thought these pictures were very cute. It's so fun to be a dad!

Here are some updated photos of Ella. She is growing up so fast already. Every time I look at her she looks bigger and older. We are really enjoying her and she is such a good baby. Today she has decided that she will eat every hour...it has sure made my day fun. =) She must be getting ready for a growing spurt soon. The cute stuffed animal came from some family friends, the Scott's. They couldn't be here, so they sent some flowers a balloon and this really cute bear. It is adorable and Ella loves it already. Ella's Nana is here visiting her this week and we are enjoying spending time with her and Ella. She did manage to get Ella her first trip to Disneyland. Our passes ran up yesterday, so we went to get her profile done last night. It turned out really cute....I am pretty sure some of the people in line thought that we were abusive parents though...We were in and out, I promise. =) I will post pictures of her profile soon...
