Busy 4th of July

We had quite the busy 4th on Saturday. First, we met our friends Jeff and Martina (and who can forget their dog Jack...Ella can't) over at the Huntington Beach parade. Ella had a great time and clapped and danced for each group that passed.

She ate a LOT of licorice... Next, we went over to Mimi's for a BBQ and swimming.Ella has decided jumping in the pool is quite fun these days.Then, we headed over to watch the fireworks off the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We grabbed a great uncrowded spot on the beach and ended the night there. Ella LOVED the fireworks.Who could miss flying a kite with Nana. =) Owen is quite the kite flyer!! Ella loved doing her own little firework show too!All in all it was a fun day and we were exhausted in the end.

San Diego

So we decided to take a weekend trip to San Diego and just get away. It was really fun and we crammed a lot of things in while we were there. Here are a few pictures of the fun.

This is about 2 minutes after we left the front gate. She didn't fall asleep til we got out of the park. She had a blast at the zoo and the Monkeys, Tiger, and baby Giraffe were definitely her favorite animals. We had a good trip!

Ella's New Trick

Ella has learned a new trick these days. She taught herself how to snap!! Here is a video of her snapping. And also, she thinks she's older than she is and we have no idea why. We just hope we don't have to go on an airplane before her birthday and get charged for her. =)

Ella's New Bed

About a week ago, we switched Ella into a toddler bed. She has LOVED it. It only took about one day and she goes to sleep very easily and loves it. These pictures are of the first morning after sleeping in her big girl bed. I can't believe how big she is getting on us!!

It's a Boy!

I had my 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday and we are having a little boy! Ella was excited to have a sister more than a brother up until now, but seemed pretty excited about the idea of a brother too. (As if she really knows what that means). We are a little scared about what we will do with a boy, but are excited to have one of each! I was too lazy to go to the scanner upstairs so sorry for the bad ultrasound pics. Better than nothing right? =)

St. George Trip

My great grandfather passed away last week and so we were up in St. George for the funeral. It was sure a hassle to take all of my IV stuff with me, but I was glad I went. Ella enjoyed seeing all of her relatives and had an absolute blast with her cousin Ethan. While we were there Uncle Allan took us to his friends farm. Ella wasn't so sure about the horses. She LOVES them but it was her first encounter with the true size of them (that she remembers). She had a blast though.
